Approach To Care

Dr. Timothy McManus specializes in sports and active medicine, knee care, hip care, and shoulder care. He subscribes to the philosophy of treating his patients as if they were family.

Sports medicine, for Dr. McManus, is a team game. He approaches each patient interaction with the goal of being a good teammate by educating them about their diagnosis and presenting options. He believes the patient is the most important member of the team, and it’s his job to build trust with the patient.

A foundation of trust helps patients achieve the best outcomes. There are typically lots of different ways to fix a problem, including different nonsurgical modalities, physical therapy, and injections. If we get to a point where the patient needs surgery, then we know we’ve tried all the other ways first.
